Realme 8s, Realme 8i launched in India with MediaTek SoCs, 5,000mAh battery: Price, Specifications

Realme has launched two new smartphones under the 8 series that it introduced earlier this year. There is a new Realme 8i and a Realme 8s, the latter of which is a 5G phone. The Realme 8i is the affordable smartphone among the two and comes with 4G network support. The phone has a MediaTek processor under the hood. The 8s, on the other hand, has 5G network support with a Dimensity 810 SoC. The Realme 8i includes a 50-megapixel primary camera, which is unlike the Realme 8s that offers a 64-megapixel primary camera. Let’s take a look at the Realme 8s, Realme 8i price in India, specs, and other details.

Realme 8s Price in India

The Realme 8s price in India starts at Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. On the other hand, the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option comes with a price tag of Rs. 19,999. However, Realme is offering introductory prices of Rs. 12,599 and Rs. 13,999, respectively.

The smartphone comes in the Universe Blue and Universe Purple colour options. When it comes to offers, there is a flat Rs. 1,500 discount on HDFC Bank Credit and Debit cards and EMI options. In addition, there is also a flat Rs. 1,500 discount on ICICI Bank Credit card and Credit card EMI options.

Realme 8i Price in India

Realme 8i comes with a starting price of Rs 13,999, which is for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The company is also offering a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model, which is priced at Rs 15,999.

It comes in Spack Black and Space Purple colours. The phone goes on sale starting September 14 via Flipkart, Realme.com, etc. As part of launch offers, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cardholders can claim a discount of up to Rs 1,000 on the purchase of the device.

Realme 8s Specifications 

The Realme 8s features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display gives the phone a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio and comes with 600 nits of peak brightness. It comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC under the hood. The performance unit also includes up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 8s also gets support for Dynamic RAM expansion. It takes up to 5GB of the phone’s internal memory and uses it as virtual RAM when required.

Realme 8s has a triple camera setup on the back, with a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF HDR, and 6P lens. The main sensor is paired with a 2MP B&W lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP 4cm macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. The cameras support features like Super Nightscape, Panoramic View, Expert, Timelapse & Portrait.

It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It boots Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box.

Realme 8i Specifications 

The Realme 8i comes with a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display, which is larger than the Realme 8s 5G. Moreover, we can also see a 120Hz refresh rate on the device which is more than that of the 90Hz refresh rate of the 8s, the display on the device sports a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 180Hz touch sampling rate.

The budget phone sports a punch-hole display design. The circular notch accommodates a 16MP selfie camera. It is powered by a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 processor. It also comes with support for Realme’s Dynamic RAM Expansion as well. So, users get up to 11GB of additional memory using the internal storage for a better multitasking experience.

It features a 50MP primary camera and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro. There is a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support.
