Holi which is the great festival of Colors is coming. Holi is also the perfect time to get some great candid photos and videos of family and loved ones. The main celebration, which is typically a wet and colorful affair, can be a lot of fun. Whether or not you actively partake in the festivities, you can capture all these moments with your smartphone using the apps that we are bringing you in this thread. So without any delay let’s get started.
1. Snapseed
Snapseed is one of our favorite image editing apps on smartphones. The app may appear basic but once you begin exploring it, you will find a lot of features that are easy to understand and implement. You can use this app to quickly blur a part of the image and create a bokeh-like effect on a picture. Also, this can be useful if you have a picture where you’re celebrating with a large group and want the picture to focus on you and your loved ones. It offers granular control over your images in an easy-to-use package and we can’t recommend it strongly enough for image editing.

2. Quik
You can use this app to capture the joy of Holi celebrations so that your smartphone stays safe from water. If so, Quik is a must-have video editing app for your phone. Even if you wish to brave it and use your smartphone itself, this is still one of the best free video editing apps to have. Besides being able to edit your videos, the true appeal of Quik is its ability to automatically create mini-movie clips of the photos and videos you select.

3. Magisto
Magisto is another video editing app that we recommend for those who don’t have the patience to sit and edit home videos. All you need to do is select a bunch of video clips from your phone and select a theme and then pick the music. It will then trim the video clips and make a nice video for you, which is perfect for sharing with friends and family his Holi. This may not always be as good as what you’d have been able to manage with an advanced video editing app, but it’s really good if you just want to put together a few celebration clips and turn it into a memorable video.

4. Kirakira+
This is a unique app that focuses on adding sparkly effects to photos and videos. It may sound shallow but it’s actually pretty cool. Any object that emits light in the picture or video shines even more. This app may be better suited for Diwali as it works best when you shoot sparkly objects at night. It’s ideal to add some bling to photos or videos of fireworks, for example. Don’t let that deter you and try the app to add some glitter to your Holi photos or videos.

Here is another of our favorite photo editing apps, this app offers lots of amazing filters and editing options for photos. It also has a passionate community of smartphone photographers who share their photos on this app. You should definitely check out the work of these people for some inspiration. Once that is done, you can use its neat editing tools to add some color to your pictures, making them perfect for the festival of Holi.
