Last week Samsung unveiled its much-awaited foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. Earlier today, Samsung’s Indian unit revealed the pricing and availability details for both the foldables in the country. The devices will go on sale starting September 10 in India. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 will be available to pre-book starting August 24. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 price in India, features, and other details.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 Price in India
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be available in two variants in India with either 12GB RAM and 256GB storage or 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The 12GB/256GB variant is priced at Rs 1,49,999. Meanwhile the 12GB/512GB is available for Rs 1,57,999.
The Z Flip 3 also comes in two storage options. The base 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 84,999, whereas the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs 88,999. It comes in Phantom Black and Cream colours.
Samsung has partnered with HDFC bank, offering a cashback of Rs 7,000 to consumers who want to pre-book either Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3. The company is also offering an upgrade voucher of up to Rs 7,000 if the consumer is not interested in the cashback. The customers will also be eligible for free 1 year Samsung Care+ Accidental & Liquid Damage on pre-booking Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G.
Consumers who have already pre-reserved Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and/or Galaxy Z Flip3 5G in India will be eligible for all pre-booking offers along with a free Galaxy SmartTag. As mentioned above, the pre-orders go live on Samsung.com and across leading retail stores starting August 24 till September 09, 2021. The devices go on sale starting September 10, 2021.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with two displays, a main foldable inner display, and an outer secondary display. The main screen here is a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED panel which the brand calls the Infinity Flex Display. It comes with a resolution of 2208×1768 pixels with 374ppi (pixels per inch) and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The second panel is a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 2268×832 pixels and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 runs Android 11-based One UI 3.1.1 out of the box. It has a 10MP selfie camera on the cover display. Below the inner display, Samsung has placed a 4MP under-display selfie camera that can be used to capture selfies, videos, and video calls. On the rear, the smartphone has a 12MP+12MP+12MP triple-camera setup. There is a wide-angle camera with dual-pixel autofocus and OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and OIS. Except for the 4MP front-facing camera, all other cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 can record 4K 60fps videos.
Under the hood, there’s Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset, paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is powered by a 4,400mAh battery, and it supports 25W fast charging, 10W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Specifications
The Z Flip 3 has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. It has a 1.9-inch cover display with a 260 x 512 pixels resolution. The screen is protected using UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass). The smartphone has stereo speakers but lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Flip 3 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 3,300mAh battery. The phone has an IPX8 rating for water resistance. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 runs Android 11-based One UI 3.1.1 out of the box and it will get three major Android OS updates in the future.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 carries 12-megapixel dual cameras on the outside. On the inside, it houses a 10-megapixel primary camera. Other notable options are 5G, Bluetooth v5, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 packs a 3,300mAh battery with 15W charging and 10W wireless charging support.
